In other words, the goal is to swimi smarter not harder.

Body Movement -  Is your body flat to the water or moving from side to side? Think of a large panel of wood in the water. How much momentum does that have? Not much at all, right? Now think of a streamlined kayak. It has a hundred times more momentum because it is not flat to the water. You must always be sure that your body is in motion side to side.

Increasing Speed - How do Olympic swimmer power through the water? You might think it has something to do with strength and stamina. But there is more to it, a secret that you probably would never know unless you had been taught by a coach or friend. To increase your speed, you must be relaxed in the water. Remaining relaxed is one of the most important parts of perfecting your swimming technique.

Pulling - Creating a perfect pulling technique is all in the elbow. Watch a video of any of the Olympic swimmers and you will see that they keep their elbow high and close to their body. Those who have not perfected the pull will pull either too wide, with a straight arm or across their body.
That’s exactly how you can start improving your swim stroke and speed up your swim time.
